Northern Ireland’s Henderson Group joins Women in Business Network as Member to Foster Diversity

Henderson Group, employing over 5,600 people throughout Northern Ireland, is the first food and retail company to become part of the Women in Business network. The move is a testament to the firm being committed to having diverse and inclusive employees.

Empowering Employees

Training sessions in the form of workshops, mentorship, and network forums will be provided to support staff, logistics, and retail workers under the partnership. The centers will be oriented towards empowering women so that they advance their technical expertise, self-esteem, and capability and mobilize the engagement of the male workers as change agents in an attempt to bring about greater gender equality.

Leadership Commitment

Group HR Director Kathy Simpson informed the audience that the change is part of Henderson’s broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda. She said it was also seen as a means of creating space for a facilitating, influential culture to emerge that will make women feel at home with and known to all employees in the firm.

Women in Business, Northern Ireland’s premier women’s business networking group, was pleased to welcome Henderson Group as its newest member. The group sent best wishes to the firm as it set the pace in the retail and grocery marketplace and asserted membership is the one to follow.

Setting New Standards in Retail

In so doing, Henderson Group is pioneering in an industry where there have been fewer concerted efforts to empower women at all levels. This partnership is reflective of how the retail industry can be most effective by putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to diversity and empowering women as leaders.

Conclusion: The Henderson Group/Women in Business partnership represents a milestone moment in Northern Ireland retailing history. By placing diversity and inclusion at the absolute centre of its formation, the business is not only empowering employees but leading the way to a wider cultural revolution right across the industry as a whole. The action sends a vilely powerful message: when women do well, business and society flourish.
